Chryslers Star Engine Eclipses Milestone

Within the Chrysler family of vehicles we offer here at Coppus Motors there lurks a legend.  While this legend may be overlooked by the actual models it sits inside of, it plays just as important of a role in the success of the entire brand.

This legend we speak of is the entire lineup of Pentastar engines, which power a variety of the vehicles we have here in our inventory of new Chrysler family models.

In total 17 Chrysler group vehicles are powered by Pentastar engines, spanning nine different classes of automobiles.

Recently Chrysler produced its 3 millionth 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine at the Trenton, New Jersey manufacturing complex.  This specific engine is the most popular of the lineup, and was the motor that spawned the rest of the Pentastar lineup.

Over the years various entities have lauded the Pentastar engine, with it having been named one of Ward's ten best engines for three years running.  In addition, 22 best-in-class honors can be attributed to it, with those ranging from towing to fuel efficiency numbers.

Bob Lee, Chrysler Group Vice President and Head of Engine, Powertrain and Electrified Propulsion Systems Engineering, spoke about the engine after it reached the milestone: "The 3.6-liter Pentastar not only has provided our many customers with billions of miles of reliable service and driving enjoyment, it is testament to our powertrain engineering prowess. With minimal modification, this engine delivers world-class performance in multiple applications.  While our customers benefit from its wide range of capabilities, Chrysler Group benefits from economies of scale."1
